Booking

Please note that whilst we are always happy to deal with any preliminary enquiries which a prospective guest may wish to raise before deciding whether or not to book VillaBabar, a specific rental period can only be reserved with a confirmed booking. A general expression of interest, nomatter how genuine, is not sufficient to secure the villa for the particular dates you may have in mind.
Once a booking is made, formal confirmation will be sent to you by e-mail. Payment of the rental price then falls to be made as follows:-
A deposit of 20% of the total due to be paid by no later than 8 weeks prior to the start of your rental holiday; and
The balance of 80% of the total due to be paid by no later than 4 weeks prior to the start date.
Payments can be made by Visa, Mastercard, Paypal, inter-bank transfer (particularly easy if you have access to an online banking facility) or, of course, by cheque.

How to calculate the cost

Current rental charges for VillaBabar can be found here. Where a rental period extends across two price levels, the appropriate charge is that applying at the beginning of each week of your holiday - e.g. if a guest books a two week rental where the first part of week 1 is in the low season, and remainder of week 1 & the whole of week 2 are in the mid season, then the cost will be the total of one week charged at low season rates plus one week charged at mid season rates.
By the same token, if the first part of any rental week is in e.g. high season but the end of the week extends into e.g. mid season, then the high season rate (being that applicable at the beginning of the week) would apply.

Cancellations

In the unfortunate event that any guest is obliged to cancel a confirmed booking, the cancellation charges will be as follows:-
Where cancellation occurs no later than eight weeks prior to the date of commencement of the rental period, no charge will apply and any deposit monies paid will be refunded in full;
Where cancellation occurs no later than four weeks, and no earlier than eight weeks, before the date of commencement of the rental period, the cancellation charge will be the amount of the deposit; and
Where cancellation occurs during the four week period immediately preceding the date of commencement of the rental period, the cancellation charge will be the full amount paid for the rental.

Insurance

We strongly recommend that every guest takes out comprehensive holiday insurance to cover their rental period. Your insurance broker or bank can arrange this for you - it often just takes a 'phone call. In addition to insurance cover, you may wish to obtain a Form E111 from your Post Office. This should cover the cost of any emergency medical treatment which may be required in the event accident or illness

What happens next

Once the full cost of the holiday has been paid, you will be sent detailed directions for getting to the villa (these have been prepared on the assumption that most guests will fly to Alicante Airport and collect their hire car there) and also the necessary information regarding collection of keys etc.

When you arrive

There will be a welcome pack of basic essentials and a bottle of wine (to help you get into the holiday spirit !) waiting for you at VillaBabar.
The management company who look after the villa for us are based in Javea - just a few minutes drive away - and their telephone number is included in the details sent to you beforehand so that you have a local point of contact in case of difficulty or emergency.

VillaBabar is ready for occupancy from 4pm on the first day of every rental period, and we do ask that guests vacate the villa by no later than 12 noon on the day of departure.
